Qabalan: Support the Resistance in its fight against "Israel"
Source: nowlebanon.com, 18-10-2008
Deputy President of the Higher Islamic Shiaa Council Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan said during the opening of the Mohammad al-Amin Mosque on Saturday that former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri "built spirits before building mosques."
"Power can be achieved through science, knowledge and confronting the devil," said Qabalan, adding that Lebanon's people, army and the Resistance had opposed Israel.
"We call on Arab countries to avoid problems and disagreements, and to be united. We call on Arab regimes to support the Resistance in its fight against ‘Israel'," he said, adding that the Resistance included people from all confessions.
He also called on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to continue his efforts to reconcile the Palestinian people.
"I did not support the exchange of embassies between Lebanon and Syria, but I do not mind it as long as it is the will of the Lebanese people," Qabalan concluded.
