Hizbullah official Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, while giving a eulogy in the southern village of Dayaat al-Arab on Saturday, urged Lebanese parties to conclude and strengthen their reconciliations.

"Lebanese reconciliations and understandings are upsetting the US administration... which doesn't want a Shia-Sunni understanding to take place," said Qaouk.

He added that "some Lebanese parties have not noticed the "Israeli" military massing on the borders and have not heard the "Israeli" threats. Instead they want to continue arguing and fostering differences with Syria."

"Establishing diplomatic relations with Syria is the right step to consolidate the strategic relationship," Qaouk added.

"Whenever the Americans observe any advancement in achieving entente and reconciliation, they send delegations and make visits to poison the atmosphere and spread seeds of dissent between the Lebanese," he said.
