Former Prime Minister Omar Karami said that Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea's apology for the assassination of Karami's brother Former PM Rashid Karami would not bring him back. "We did not ask for an apology from Geagea, but we raised the slogan: we will not forgive and we will not forget," he said, "Personally, the apology will not bring Rashid Karami back. He was a PM when he was assassinated and he was working day and night from his position to stop the implementation of the conspiracy of dividing Lebanon."

Karami said that Geagea's apology meant nothing, personally or politically, "for us Geagea remains a murdered and a criminal."

Karami told journalists on Tuesday that Geagea was working for "his project" and calling for a state that stretches from Madfoun to Kfarshima. "When Rachid Karami was assassinated the LF were celebrating and raising cheers because he was a firm opponent of the conspiracy, and killing him was crucial to the conspiracy," he said.

Karami said that the word reconciliation, as used in Tripoli, surpassed the meaning of what really happened. "I have said since the beginning that it was cease of fire or cease of fighting," Karami said, adding that "the issue has always a political dispute he said, and gunmen remained in the streets and political money was vastly spent." Karami said the political issued raised a series of questions about the electoral law, which they "show off by saying that they introduced reform to it."

Karami said that there were eyewitnesses to the spending of millions of dollars under the claim of social aid. Karami called on the state to take practical measures to stop the spending, and he warned that the security and intelligence services were working in politics.

Asked about PM Saniora's statement that Lebanon had lost the 2006 July War, Karami said, "I love Saniora, and I care for him. He always says that he is an Arab Nationalist and he does not need a blood test [to prove it].When I heard what he recently said, I was disappointed, and I only want him to refer to the Winograd report."
