Lahoud thanks Iran for its positive role in Lebanon, especially after July 2006 War

Former President Emile Lahoud said that his visit to Iran this week was intended to thank Tehran for its positive role in Lebanon, especially through aid granted after the July War in 2006.
In a press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Lahoud said that the Christian Lebanese were open toward their environment and communicated with the whole world.
He also praised Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun's visit to Tehran and said that the criticism proved that there was a planned campaign to make the visit fail.
He added that the meeting between Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri held on Sunday night was a positive and important step to accomplish national unity.
