Lahoud in Iran: Resistance was the only way to recover our rights from "Israeli" enemy

Former President Emile Lahoud on Thursday renewed his call for dialogue and agreement among the Lebanese and underlined the importance of holding parliamentary elections on time.
In an interview with Iranian television, Lahoud said the role of Lebanese Christians was to be open to all parties. He also lauded the visit of Free Patriotic Movement leader General Michel Aoun to Iran earlier this month, which he said was in line with Aoun's positions in the past.
The former president addressed his "special relationship" between Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, which he said was based on "shared faith and belief in coexistence and national unity" and the conviction that "the Resistance was the only way to recover our rights from the "Israeli" enemy."
Lahoud, who is on a visit to Iran this week, discussed the situation in Lebanon, especially during the July War, and Iranian support for Lebanon with Iranian Speaker Ali Larijani.
Lahoud also visited the Armenian Orthodox Archbishop in Tehran and bishops across Iran and Azerbaijan.
