Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah said that the reconciliation atmosphere indicated hope among the Lebanese population after sectarian players tried to complicate national and Islamic relations.
Such sectarians, he said, use fear and exaggeration of facts for political calculations related to regional or international alliances that do not have Lebanon's best interests at heart.
During Friday prayer, Fadlallah said that reconciliation should be looked upon from the perspective of honesty that would push everybody to think well and practically plan for the country's welfare, especially in the coming period of regional challenges.
Fadlallah said he hoped the Lebanese cabinet would be one of true national unity rather than opposing alliances fighting one another.
He called on the cabinet to work for the independence of Lebanon and to put all its efforts into offer social, health and environmental services to all Lebanese.
