Sukkariyeh: Lebanon is not ruled by majority, but by mutual agreement
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 1-11-2008
Whoever wins a majority of seats in Lebanon's upcoming parliamentary elections is "at the same level as the minority, because the country is not ruled by majority, but by mutual agreement," Loyalty to the Resistance MP Ismail Sukkariyeh told the Lubnan al-Hurr (Free Lebanon) radio station on Saturday morning.
The "flavor" of the 2009 elections would be determined by the Christian Maronites, he added, because of the "difficulty of choosing" between Free Patriotic Movement leader General Michel Aoun and "other movements."
