Sheikh Yazbek in al-Hermel reconciliation: a single drop of blood shed in inner conflict serves only the Zionist enemy
1/11/2008
Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in the border town of al-Qasr, sponsored a broad reconciliation between the clans of Almoqaldah in Syria and Al-Nasser Eddin in Hermel, after a spate of revenge incidents lasting many years.
A ceremony was held on the occasion in the town's Husseiniyat (congregation hall), in the presence of Hizbullah Consultative Council member Sheikh Mohammed Yazbek, Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, former Minister Fayez Shukr; MPs: Nowar al-Sahili, Ismail Sukarieh, Hussein Haj Hassan, Marwan Faris and Ali Moqdad; former MPs: Ali Jaafar, Saud Raphael and Wajih al-Ba'ariny; members of the Syrian People's Assembly: Mahmoud Alfadaos, Hussein Rahmeh, Mohamed Sufouf, members of the Reconciliation Commission in Syria Sheikh Mustafa Dahir, a delegation from the Community of Secular Reform in Homs, Chief of the Army Intelligence in the Bekaa, Colonel Hussein Khalifa, representatives from other Military Security Services, Leadership Head of the Monotheism Movement, Sheikh Hashem Minkara, a delegation from the Federation of Associations, northern personalities, delegations from a number of Northern villages and border Syrian villages, representatives of national and Islamic parties, governorate mayors and village chiefs, political and tribal figures, scholars and clerics.
According to tribal customs, members of the reconciliation committee escorted a delegation representing Almqalda town tribes to the Hussainiyat hall in Al-Qasr town, where speeches were made in succession by each of Nafez Jaafar, stressing that this opportunity "confirms the extent of coherence and cohesion between the two peoples in Syria and Lebanon."
A speech by Syria's tribes, was given by MP Mahmoud Alfadaos, in which he thanked "our people in Syria and Lebanon for rising above the wounds and for consolidating the brotherly relations between the two fraternal peoples." He also thanked Sayyed Nasrallah for his patronage and the fulfillment of this reconciliation.
Sheikh Yazbek delivered a speech in which he said: "I am talking to you on behalf of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, because he really is the sponsor of this reconciliation, and from the first moment this painful incident occurred he has been following it up for a way out, because he believes that every drop of our sons' blood shed, only serves the Zionist enemy ".
Sheikh Yazbek added: "The enemy is saddened by that, which unifies our two peoples in Syria and Lebanon, and rejoices when we are separated and dispersed, because you are the pride of the nation which embraced the resistance and continues to do so, forming the steadfast rock confronting the occupier and its henchmen."
He also referred to the reconciliation meeting which brought together Sayyed Nasrallah and MP Saad Hariri, adding that the meeting "was for washing away all alienations, to down all the barriers our enemies wanted, so that brotherhood continues to reign among Muslims."
He concluded by saying: "the resistance will remain alongside the army and the people, when Lebanon is strong, Syria is too, and Lebanon a source of goodness."
