Labor Minister Mohammad Fneish said that the meeting between Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Future leader MP Saad Hariri put things back in their normal track. "The meeting does not need exceptional methods to be continued as much as it needs communication channels through our common work spaces," he said.
In an interview with al-Rai Kuwaiti daily on Wednesday he said that the national dialogue table should include all the elements which give dialogue purpose to define participation credentials so that it could be known who could be part of the dialogue.
Asked about the peace and war decisions, Fneish said, "When there are occupied lands, there is no other choice but resistance to retrieve your rights. Experience has proved that without the Resistance we would not have been able to retrieve our rights."
The state was absent because of confrontation with ‘Israel', he added, and the result was the state's inability to confront attacks because its position and role were deteriorating. "Is the state able to liberate the land and defend it?" he asked. "Who is disputing with the other on the establishment of the state and institutions? The wise political approach stems from the real situation; there is a historical path in Lebanon which is 60 years old, and we cannot say that we became a state."
Fneish said there has never been a conflict between two weapons since the state has not used its legitimate weapons in defending its land. The problem, he said, is in the political decision and when such a decision was absent many officers who confronted ‘Israeli' attack were punished. "These are truths," he said.
Fneish said there would be no return to quadripartite alliances between Hizbullah, PSP, Future and Amal. "This alliance had its conditions, components, and results. Our alliance with the Free Patriotic Movement is basic in any alliance. However, this does not mean that we are using this alliance to isolate any party or to retrieve the dualities of the past."
