Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem confirmed on Thursday that Hizbullah would not abandon the Resistance's strength "unless we become assured of the presence of a force able to confront "Israel"."
Speaking during a political meeting in Burj al-Barajneh in the southern suburb of Beirut, Sheikh Qassem stressed that Hizbullah believes in the serious need to strengthen the Resistance, provide the Lebanese army with weapons in order to make it able to confront and face the Zionist entity. "We won't relinquish our strength unless we find reassurance in the presence of a force in a position to deal with what we used to and face "Israel"," Sheikh Qassem said, noting that "in this case, there would be integration between the strengths of the Resistance, the army, the people, and Lebanon in general."
Sheikh Qassem spoke about the 2009 forthcoming parliamentary elections, stressing that people would choose their representatives, and therefore all political factions should seek the Lebanese people's decisions through the polls. "We won't resort to the suspicious tools to force the people to vote for us; after all, people should have the freedom of choice," his eminence declared, assuring Hizbullah supporters in this context that the "decayed and spoiling" electoral money can only buy those who have weak spirit.
Turning into the reconciliations that were taking place lately in Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem insisted that they were merely political and therefore would not transform into neither political nor electoral alliances. "As a national opposition, we will remain allied," his eminence asserted, reassuring the opposition supporters that there won't be another quadripartite alliance. "We won't be concerned with any form of alliance with the loyalty bloc," Sheikh Qassem announced.
The Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General also tackled the discovery of a Lebanese terrorist cell suspected of working for "Israel"'s spy agency, the Mossad, since the 1980s. "This proves that the Lebanese scene was still penetrated by the "Israeli"s," Sheikh Qassem pointed out.
