Hizbullah official Ghaleb Abu Zeinab said that the Resistance would not allow the American administration to eliminate them. He added that Lebanon would not be a center for political projects that aimed to give "Israel" control of the region.
During a political conference at Nouweyri on Friday, he said, "Nobody is allowed to treat Syria as if it were the enemy."
Abu Zeinab said that some were afraid of the 2009 parliamentary elections, fearing that the opposition might win a majority and that they would become a minority, thus losing their power.
He also said that political funding was being doled out in huge sums in hotly contested regions to indirectly buy votes by paying hospital bills, school fees, transportation costs, and, in Ashrafieh, opening economy offices.
Regarding defense strategy, Abu Zeinab said that every state should have the necessary components for self defense.
