FPM Demands Lifting Immunity for Future MP Youssef
Source: Al-Manar TV, 18-11-2008
Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Nabil Nicholas retorted to Mustakbal (Future Movement) MP Ghazi Youssef's accusations that the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) has been acting suspiciously recently. Nicholas demanded that immunity be lifted for Youssef if his allegations proved wrong. The FPM MP challenged the Future Movement MP to mention even one corruption case that incriminates the Free Patriotic Movement, "although Youssef held a press conference for this purpose without mentioning any such case." Nicholas was speaking to the Kuwaiti daily "Al-Anbaa" when he revealed that "Youssef has been recently preoccupied with press conferences that only reflect the Future Movement's reaction to Telecommunications Minister Jibran Bassil's endeavor to fight exacerbated corruption that plagued the ministry under their control." "The Future Movement is trying to anticipate and counter Bassil's move by lodging complaints through which it (Future Movement) can convince the public opinion with it's charges against Bassil on the one hand and distance itself from corruption charges, which the FPM unveiled with names and figures," Nicholas said.
