Ayatollah Fadlallah received Sheikh Qassem: Lebanese situation should be seen through paradigm of "Israeli" threat

Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah said that it was crucial to view domestic Lebanese politics through the paradigm of the ongoing threat to Lebanon, "because the enemy still perceives that the resistant Lebanon, the Lebanon which foiled the goals of the 2006 July War, as a strategic threat." Accordingly, Fadlallah added that Lebanese officials should discuss the defense strategy without being affected by media and political disputes.
After meeting with Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem on Tuesday, Fadlallah said that it was important to maintain dialogue between different factions in Lebanon and not to allow the ongoing media and political disputes hinder the security and stability of Lebanon. He added that it was important to treat the security issue as a domestic strategic priority, which was related to the "enemy's greed and violation, and successive targeting of Lebanon in various ways."
