Hizbullah foreign relations officer, Nawwaf Moussawi, reiterated his party's objection to ongoing "Israeli" violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
After meeting with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Sergei Pukin on Tuesday, Moussawi said ""Israeli" air breaches and the occupation of Ghajar and the Kfarshouba hills is a violation of international resolutions."
"If international resolutions cannot uphold its articles and clauses in the face of "Israeli" violations, how could they protect Lebanon against "Israeli" aggression?" he asked.
He stressed the importance of coordination between Syria and Lebanon in the face of attempts to undermine security and national unity.
Moussawi questioned why some Lebanese parties attacked the visits of certain officials to Syria, while remaining silent about visits undertaken by politicians who are loyal to them, adding that this revealed other parties' intentions to diminish the role of the president. Moussawi was referring to March 14 criticisms of Interior Minister Ziad Baroud's visit to Syria, while they refrained from condemning Information Minister Tarek Mitri's visit to the Syrian capital.
Moussawi added that such "attempts will face complete failure."
He confirmed Hizbullah was committed to carrying out the parliamentary elections according to the current schedule.
"Lebanon can only be ruled by détente, because the sectarian political system generates a democratic majority which is of a sectarian nature," he concluded.
