Mottaki: Regional stability impossible without Lebanese stability
Source: As-Safir, 21-11-2008
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told As-Safir newspaper on Friday that his country was looking forward the visit of Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, which, he said, was expected to pave the way for improved bilateral relations and the possibility of signing cooperation agreements.
He added that Tehran considered that regional stability could not be achieved without stability in Lebanon. He said that Lebanon had overcome the consequences of the May events, which, he said, lead to Doha Agreement.
He called for fully implementing the Doha Agreement, which he said Iran had played a part in achieving, especially running for the parliamentary elections in 2009 in order to solve difficulties in a democratic way and through dialogue.
