Kahwaji urges troops to remain alert to confront any possible "Israeli" aggression

The commander of Lebanon's Armed Forces, General Jean Kahwaji, said on Thursday that troops should be loyal to the military establishment "above all else." Kahwaji issued a statement urging soldiers to stay out of political disputes and remain alert to confront any possible "Israeli" aggression. He also called on the military to fully cooperate with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701. "As for the internal front, I call on you to preserve the country's stability and to continue fighting terrorism."
