Hobballah calls for cabinet accountability
27-1102008
Loyalty to the Resistance MP Hassan Hobballah told NBN television on Thursday that Prime Minister Fouad Siniora was meant to support the labor sector and the employees of the public sector instead of warning about the dangerous financial situation during his intervention in the parliament session on Wednesday.
He added that most of the MPs said during the session that the cabinet should bear its responsibilities, and called for monitoring any steps taken and inspecting all procedures.
He said that social demands could not be separated from political backgrounds.
He added that President Michel Suleiman's visit to Iran, which he said aimed to consolidate bilateral relations, was one of the president's most important visits. He said that Suleiman proved Lebanon's openness toward all countries.
He also said that his bloc did not participate in Independence Day because most of the members were travelling and some had social engagements.
He added that PM Siniora respected neither the ministerial statement nor the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc.
